Hanna Jaffe

 

Hanna Jaffe is a storyteller, singer and teacher of Jewish traditional texts.

She is originally from London. She studied in the ultra-orthodox, well-known seminary in Gateshead, UK. Her father was the Rabbi and Anglo Jewish historian, Bernard Susser.

Hanna is the Jerusalem coordinator of "Spirit of Peace" a UK based charity. Hanna frequently works with storytellers of other faiths. She currently lives in Jerusalem near her children and grandchildren, from where she is developing a project bringing together women from different sides of the conflict to address the wounds caused by years of living with the instability of a society in conflict. She is also engaged in dialogue between Palestinians and residents of an Israeli settlement.

Hanna works with her colleague Sheikh Ghassan Manasra, a Palestinian Sufi Sheikh, They have just returned from a fruitful 12 city tour in the UK, speaking to civil society and religious groups, schools and universities, with Spirit of Peace and its Director, Jane Ozanne.
